2001 GB - MS2215 - Anniversary of First Double Decker Bus MNH

  • No 13 - Issued 15 May 2001 - MS 2215

    Mint Never Hinged

In this miniature sheet, the illustration of the AEC Regent III RT Type and the Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX-33 appear twice.

The red double-decker is a symbol of London as much as 'Big Ben' and Buckingham Palace. Furthermore, waiting for a bus is very much a part of British culture.
It is appropriate therefore that these vehicles are immortalised on British stamps. In a design that spans five first-class stamps, sixteen models of a double-decker bus are portrayed.
